Project Information
Busselton Jetty Inc. has transformed a 152-year-old, 1.8 km jetty into one of Western Australia’s most visited attractions. Its Underwater Observatory draws over 75,000 visitors annually, funding the upkeep of a precinct that welcomes more than 400,000 people each year.
To plan the jetty’s next chapter, Busselton Jetty Inc. engaged Oceanis to undertake a feasibility study and develop a new observatory concept — a world-class experience celebrating Busselton’s rich marine life.
The proposed design features a larger elliptical observatory accommodating 180 visitors across three viewing floors, complemented by a purpose-built reef to enhance and protect the marine ecosystem. Retaining the jetty’s iconic blue shoreline buildings, the design integrates new interactive and immersive experiences inspired by global aquatic and entertainment destinations.
Currently in fundraising development, this next-generation observatory promises to elevate Busselton Jetty as the premier marine destination in the Southern Hemisphere.
