Blue Water Lagoon
Project Information
“The Bluewater Lagoon is one of the region’s most popular attractions, with June and July of this year representing the highest number of visitations to the facility since it opened.” — Paul Steindl, Sports, Recreation and Facilities Portfolio Councillor
Comprising three-tiered swimming lagoons, and a zero depth water play area, the Bluewater Lagoon is a family-friendly leisure facility overlooking the picturesque river environment.
Covering an area equivalent to three 50 metre swimming pools, Bluewater Lagoon provides a safe all-year-round stinger-free swimming environment.
Varying in depth from 0 to up to 1.8 metres, the two main lagoon areas are connected by a spectacular water slide.
The Lagoon’s co-location with the Pioneer River was an important factor in its design, influencing its alignment with the surrounding landscape and focus on organic shapes.
Oceanis designed pools, water slides, children’s water play area, rides, jet effects, and waterfalls for this beautiful public facility.
Achieving high quality water to meet both visitor expectations and local codes and standards compliance is vital to the visitation success of lagoons and pools. Oceanis brought an in-depth understanding of these aspects to the planning and design of the park.
A complex environment with a range of water depths, dense occupancy loads and water movements, Oceanis’ knowledge of aquatic engineering and water quality matters has played an important part in its on-going success.
Bluewater Lagoon continues to earn outstanding feedback from visitors, and as one of the region’s most popular attractions continues to bring significant economic value to the region.
